Kilim Vintage Rug carpet from Persia / Iran.
Persian Kelim Old are often oblong, and were originally used in tents by the nomads. Kelim rugs are often placed on top of other rugs as insulation. The rugs are often up to 50 years old, sometimes more than 80 years. The nomads knot or weave the rugs they need themselves, and use them for many different purposes, such as saddlebags for camels and donkeys, but today they are mostly used for motorbikes, storing clothes, for sitting on, and as sleeping blankets. The designs are simple and with a big variety in coloring.

Wool is a natural textile fibre and one of the most sought after materials for rug making. Wool rugs are highly durable and perfectly capable of resisting wear and tear of every day use. Wool has a naturally dirt-repelling effect and is easy to keep clean. It is also flame resistant and characteristically retains it’s shape so that the pile of the rug always rises.

Beautiful quality and lovely colours
The website was easy to use. I needed a specific small size for where the rug has to go in my bedroom and was spoilt for choice. The carpet that I finally chose was exactly what I wanted and the quality and finish is absolutely gorgeous. It looks even better in real life and I have a certificate of authentication for it.
